Sandara Park: On Screen Lead Role

>> Monday, February 15, 2010

After becoming one of Korea’s top girl groups, 2NE1 member Sandara Park is completing her first read-through for her debut leading role on screen!

Sandara Park has had her share of drama appearances, such as her role in MBC drama ‘ The Return of Il JiMae‘ as Rie, the quiet daughter of the ninja who saved the life of Il JiMae (played by Jung IlWoo), which was considered a complete opposite to the Sandara we’re used to seeing on stage.

It’s even been said that she has been receiving many “love calls” or contract offers. She has been offered a lead role in an upcoming Korean version of “Step Up”. A representative recently released a comment saying:

“Thus far, Sandara Park has been sent a script. Though she’s certainly well-versed in song and dance through her film and drama experience in both the Philippines and Korea, she is not considered to be the ideal fit for this production.”
A representative from Sandara Park’s agency YGEntertainment stated:
“Not only that movie, but numerous other dramas and films have offered leading roles” and “She’s been receiving strict training even though she was performing as an actress in the Philippines and even throughout her activities as a member of 2NE1. In the future, Sandara Park will not only through her music, but through films and dramas as well, reveal herself as a great performer.”
I really can't wait to see Sandara Park as a lead actress on a K-drama ^_^  fighting!~

Stars Falling From the Sky (2010 with trailer)

Broadcast network: SBS , Monday & Tuesday 20:55

The drama draws a love story between two co-workers at an insurance company.

    Cast character

Jin Pal Kang, a bit immature at 25 years old, dreaming of a Cinderella scenario wherein a prince on a white horse will come along and change her life. After her parents suddenly die, she has to find her own way in the world.

Won Kang Ha, an insurance company’s whip-smart lawyer. Because he carries the hurt of having been abandoned by his birth mother, he doesn’t easily open his heart to others.

Won Joon Ha, Won Kang Ha’s brother as a man with painful memories of his youth. He’s described as “warm and perfect, but also with a timid and innocent side to his character.” That’ll contrast pretty strongly with the smooth player he played in Soulmate and the private loan shark he portrayed in War of Money, as well as Kim Ji-hoon’s character, who is described as a cold man who doesn’t believe in love.
